As far as community I was the GM of the ~E~O~D~ a kind of Dark Visionary Art Movement, got rid of the GM thing for a kind of more horizonal set up of the community, and it is going nicely. I am into real community not just the bullshit "friend" thing-- would almost be better if they started as "enemies", and worked up to just "non-caring strangers"....

yeah.
soon after i joined up i realized "Deviant art" is just their cheap pickup line. there's very little going on around here one can consider to be deviant.
sometimes i pay attention to people's feedback.
mostly i just post to get attention.
i try to make helpful comments on other people's work,
when i'm not feeling lazy.
most of the time i'm feeling lazy.
there's no "community" per say, at least not for me.
then again, i've never really had the "community spirit."
maybe it's like being touched by the lord-ah.

Where are the free range artist? I hate yuppy gallerys and cyber sweat shops.
Do you think people mold their art based on the feed back from people on Deviant Art? Semantically "Deviant Art" is kind of offensive. Alot of this stuff I would think of as a huge Dark Visionary Art movement.

If you see Andre Breton on the road kill him and forget everything you learned in art school.

I like all the spontanious un trained(jungle vine of consciousness) stuff.

After a couple of months I see what you mean. It is kind of a prison compared to the free rangeness of graffiti artists and my interest in doing mail art. Its almost worse than gallery shows, but for cool non-yuppy types like you and some of the others. Collectivity sometimes produces some dull nightmare effects though.
